This past Monday, I woke up early and decided to go to the gym before my day started–it was my first day back on rotations. I was running a little late and rushed out, headphones and water bottle in hand, and as the door clicked closed, I realized I didn’t have my keys. Of course our condo door locks itself automatically. Ugh. Luckily my neighbor was just on her way out the door to work and spared me a couple minutes with her phone so I could beg my dad to bring over my extra set of keys. Don’t you love ‘style’ foods? New England style clam chowder or Chicago style pizza…is it really from those places? Anyway, this coffee cake recipe is from the Baked cookbook, whose authors are from New York, so perhaps this is true to form. Well, at least that’s what the story leading up to the recipe says. I mean, I’m just a girl from Central Mass…what do I know? read more »

Oh yes, Happy New Year! I wish I had some cool sparkler recipes or something else that is festive. Instead, I’m going to talk about this recipe, a union of two awesome things: cinnamon rolls and muffins. I’m a big fan of cinnamon rolls. Unfortunately, they take forever and though there are overnight recipes out there, it’s really hard for me to remember to do anything the night before. Yes, there is my bagel recipe that needs to be started overnight, but honestly, I usually forget most of the time. And then I’m disappointed. read more »

This is the second dish I made for my Mother’s Day Brunch. I can’t even begin to describe the awesomeness that is this bread. It’s of course from Joy the Baker. She’s up there with Ina Garten as someone who I wish I was friends with so that they would make me awesome things and I could go over and eat them. read more »
