We’re back with the ice cream tour! I’ve passed the Thumb’s Up Creamery on Route 9 in Westboro many times. It’s right off the highway and the big green thumb just stares out at you and beckons you to come in. They also claim that they have the best ice cream, which I’m not sure is necessarily true, but it does make you want to check it out.
I grew up in an ice cream family. I think once a week growing up during the summer, my family would look at each other with a glint in our eyes and ask “who wants to get ice cream?” We would zoom through the rest of our dinner–even leaving the dishes if we were really cutting it close–then rush out the door to our icy, creamy treat. It was great. My mom always got pistachio, my sister spent most of her single digits eating bubble gum or cotton candy while I usually got cookie dough.
